This brief examines the Indian technical and economic cooperation (ITEC) programme as a tool for sharing India’s experience of development and Indian technical expertise. The paper situates the creation of the ITEC in the context of India as an aid recipient and a newly-independent country. Since, the ITEC programme has been formed of several components, and has expanded as a bilateral tool to the involvement in regional and multilateral organizations in its global reach.
