South-South economic cooperation: emerging trends and future challenges

This paper lays out the discussion for the changing nature of South-South Economic Cooperation (SSEC), arguing that the main challenges are in the areas of financial and monetary cooperation. Based on a review of the current climate, a future research agenda is proposed to inform the structuring and governance of SSEC.
